now booking || fall mini sessions & loft venue space

One of our most ask questions when people come in the store is "What is upstairs?" Well, let me tell you! When we were designing and planning our store we knew we wanted to have a space to host parties and workshops but also to allow others to do the same! Our loft space is for rent and there are two rates available. We book in 2 hour increments and during business hours and after business hours. We allow for additional hours to be added and we allow you to use our handmade farm house tables. We have a total of 4 wooden 8 ft tables and 8 benches.

We would love to get you on the books! You can read more here.

We have been getting direct messages from Instagram, Email, and Facebook so we decided it's time to book our Fall Mini Sessions. We did not do very many sessions last year because I had baby Maggie! With a full season ahead I am only going to book two days in October. Sessions will take place in the downtown area. Once session is booked I will notify you with a location and confirmation on time.

Enjoy! the sweetness is almost too much.

newborn lifestyle session: noah + reilly family

i would like to introduce this sweet family of four. newborn lifestyle sessions are one of my favorite things to shoot. anything lifestyle really. it's natural, unposed, and i get to step back and capture the love that's interwoven through the house and each family member. as parents our goal is to keep our children safe and to show them love. love was present in this house and it gave me all the warm feelings. babies are such a blessing and it's a beautiful thing to watch how that little blessing can make a house feel so warm and cozy.

congrats amy & andrew! thank you for inviting me into your home to capture this beautiful time in your lives.

contact me if you'd like to book a newborn lifestyle session. spaces are limited for August and September.

newborn family session // wichita falls, texas

this little family was so sweet! little man had a head of hair, was so calm, and was born at 12Ibs! usually my newborn lifestyle sessions take place in the clients home but due to their house being dark later in the evening we held this session in the apartments above my shop, white walls and lots of light was perfect! it was rainy and cloudy outside and everything worked perfect. enjoy!

hagen : senior 2016 // holliday high school

senior season is here! i'm not sure that's a real thing but graduations are near for all the seniors and it's an exciting time of new things, growth, and adventure. i had such a great time with hagen! great personality and he was having fun which makes my job pretty amazing.

adventures in peach blossoms // charlie, tx

spring weather came early this year which means peach blossoms came early this year. these beauties come and go really fast and not all varieties of peaches produce large blooms. so it's a hit or miss and i pray i catch them every year.

i've been eyeing a few different orchards in the charlie area waiting for them to be in full bloom and right when they hit full bloom last week we had a lot of rain which weighs them down and they fall easier. the rain stopped in time for me to get home last friday, grab the girls, and go enjoy these beautiful blossoms. it was cloudy and perfect. the girls weren't really up for getting their picture made so we played and i practiced shooting video.

i'm glad i took advantage on friday because by sunday there were nearly all gone. green is peaking out in the trees and soon we will have little peaches hanging from those trees.

these blossoms make me so happy. they remind me summer is near with lots of fresh produce. we are praying we don't get hit with a late freeze. if we do, no peaches will be had.

annie is my little story teller. she plopped herself down in the grass and let her imagination run wild. she is so dramatic and puts so much emphasis into what she says. i love to watch her and pray she stays just like this.

and now, a short video of our time exploring and savoring these beautiful blossoms.

52 // week 8

i almost most missed it again. here is week 8!!

we went on a little adventure this week to some family land near the red river. i love getting away and letting the kids run around, get dirty and have fun. this space never disappoints and it's such a good opportunity for me to clear my head and breathe some fresh air!

so, that last part  when jane ate the dirt and then got made it me for trying to help her get it out of her mouth. that explains how strong willed she is. when she refused the help, i took pictures to make her more mad.

52 // week 7

i really need time to slow down. the days FLY by!  my world has changed so much.

the new schedule of home vs. store hours is great but it sure makes my minutes of each day  F L Y!

my mondays at home with the girls is a day i look forward to. this day fuels my soul and makes me stop and appreciate these little beings. i stay strong to this day off because i need to be home to just be with them, to play, laugh, dance and be silly. i love how they remind me to slow down, love them, and have patience for my dreams. they come first.

portrait session : tylar turns 2

the age of two is a hard age to shoot. the most common word used is "no" by said two year old. i love getting creative with the little ones. her mom and i decided the dairy queen in archer city, texas would be a fun place to end our session. what toddler is going to say no to a banana split?

it worked out perfect! her adorable outfit matched perfect with the bench seats inside the dq and there wasn't a person there. we had the entire place to ourselves.

i'm sure you've noticed the sunflowers are absolutely beautiful this year. so happy we were able to get some of this little lady in the field before she decided against it.

tylar has so many expressions and i love each and every one of them. she is such a ham and i just love watching her grow.

now booking portrait sessions. click here for more information on the different sessions i offer.

senior session : tarah

i had so much fun at this senior session. it was a beautiful evening with a little cool front that blew in. a blessing in our blistering hot august summer days. i love all the texture from being downtown and the beauty from the mountain bike trail near the Falls.

booking seniors now. click here for information on booking a portrait session.

newborn lifestyle session : emsley

this session was so sweet. ms. emsley was wide awake almost the entire time. she was so calm and sweet. i love newborn sessions in home, they are comfortable and cozy. it was so sweet to see how in love mom and dad were with their new addition. it brings great joy to my day to see and witness this love.

i am now booking newborn lifestyle sessions. i have limited spaces in the fall so contact me if interested!

legacy session : schalk

i had the pleasure of spending a weekend with this beautiful family. i worked for john schalk, president of schalk oil company in wichita falls. i also worked for his dad thomas schalk before he passed away in 2012. family and the importance of family is at the center of my life and every legacy. everyone has a legacy to be left. the important part is capturing this time for the generations to come.

spending the time at their lake cabin was a huge blessing. john's parents, tom and betty, bought this lake house many many years ago for $15,000 and that included the house, dock, and a boat. can you believe that. he has great memories of this place and now he is getting to share them with his wife, daughter and friends.

tom spent every day at schalk oil company. he worked 8-5 just like everyone else. he was the sweetest man and i miss him dearly. he loved his granddaughter with his whole heart. he would be so proud of the lady she is becoming. she is beautiful she like her mom and this session is for the entire family but also just for her and the legacy she is going to be left.

tom was also a fan of cowboy hats and when we were at the cabin john mentioned this. perfect opportunity to get everyone to try one on. these are some of my favorite pictures from the session.

i encourage you to consider a legacy session at some point. don't let all the wonderful memories you have of your grandparents, parents, and children go uncaptured. let the memories come to life so the generations to come can look and remember.

engagement session : amy + eric

i had the pleasure of shooting amy and eric's engagement pictures last sunday and it was great. amy and i went to school together and i've known eric for a few years. i'm so happy these two crossed paths and are getting married. you guys are beauiful, funny, and so comfortable around each other. love is a beautiful thing!

maternity session : laken + chase

maternity sessions are one of my favorites. seeing a women growing another human being is something really special. laken has such a glow about her. her and chase are truly excited for this little lady to be here next month and i can't wait to meet her.

summer is a great time to have a session. the days are long, the evenings are calm and everything is really beautiful right now. contact me to book a session!

july 4th celebration : charlie, texas

home of the free - because of the brave. for as long as i can remember i have spent my independence day in charlie, texas. the very place i grew up. my nana and gramps help run the charlie community center and have made a point to keep our small town celebration alive. i grew up excited and anxious to decorate by bicycle for the parade with red white and blue streamers, balloons and flags duct taped to my bike.

the passed few years i have carried on the tradition of helping. i help serve hamburgers and hot dogs to all the visitors who come out to celebrate.  because everyone in my family helps put it on in some way we never had any pictures to take away from something so much time and effort went into. my gramps ask me to capture the event this year and an honor it was.

i was reminded how much fun it is. the kids dancing and running wild. hay rides and blue barrel train cars being pulled behind a lawn mower keep things alive and at dark we have a nice firework show.

we had a high chance for a storm this year which left the crowd a little thin and the weather just perfect. i look up to my gramps and nana for so many reasons. their love for this small community  is so grand and i hope it is never forgotten.

family session : morath family

the fam and i went on vacation last week with my brothers family. it was such a blast. we stayed at a vrbo house in jamaica beach, tx. this was the way to go. 7 kids and 4 adults. we had two decks and a ton of room. we were also walking distance from the beach which was a huge bonus. we only ate out one meal (which we regretted) and the rest at the house. it was so relaxing which i can't say about all vacations. the kids loved the beach and we will for sure be back!

i will be doing a post about our trip with pictures but for now, here are a few photos of the morath clan. we didn't have much time and ms. hallie wasn't cooperating but i love how they turned out. i love this family so much. the bottom pictures of hallie are from the morning we left. i took her out alone to try and get her to smile...wasn't really successful but it was fun!

may moments : under the tree

may proved to be memory making. the rain came and livened up all our trees, especially this one in our side yard. crazy to think it was near death last year and we almost had it cut down. thank goodness we waited to see if it would come back to life. let me tell you. it has. it is huge! the perfect tree to lay under and dream about the future. these kids are eager to be my side kicks. they both have such great personalities. jane has gotten really into dancing. we turned the music on while we lay under the tree and i got quite the show.

these girls may not agree on sharing everything but they are becoming the best of friends. it makes this mama's heart want to burst and multiply! may, you were good to us. i pray for all those who lost something in the flood. crazy to think we were in a drought last summer and now i hope to have plans of road trips, lake visits and lots of sunscreen.

*jane's shirt was created and printed by me and is available at the alley cat attic. 9th and Indiana, downtown wichita falls, tx. third floor.

april moments : part 2

i love the spring. the days are long and being able to spend so much time outside is great. april has brought a great amount of rain! something we aren't used to so i couldn't tell the girls no when they went straight for the puddles. these girls of mine are such troopers. i did some spring mini sessions and they are always up for letting me take them around to find the best spot. each of the girls are wearing little h creative shirts designed and printed by me.

the beginning of april was a bit challenging but i'm happy to announce that after 6 weeks we are finally in a groove. the girls are playing better at home and i feel semi caught up on my work. i am so happy i made the decision to be self employed. it's work but it brings me so much joy.
