what are you scared of?

LITTLE h CREATIVE BUSINESS

I'm scared of success. Defining success can be a hard and scary thing. To be honest, I don't know what that looks like for me. Working Hard and being driven is not something I struggle with. And if being honest it can play a toll on me! At what point do I stop and slow down to know that I'm were I'm supposed to be. I'm scared that I'll wake up one day and have lost my definition of success and just be chasing everyone else's definition of what success looks like.

So today I'm writing it down. Success to me is living my purpose. Sharing the gifts God has entrusted me with. Showing my girls to dream big and work hard to accomplish them. Success is not asking for handouts. Success is feeling pride in what I HAVE accomplished. Success is loving my family hard. Every single day.

Join me! What are you scared of?!

real talk || business talk || Small business, owner & creator, Little h Creative. What are you scared of?

let's talk style

So, obviously I own a TON of t-shirts.

1. because I've been screen printing t-shirts for 8 years

2. because I really LOVE to wear t-shirts therefore I have one of everything I've printed.

I've been trying to get more creative on how to wear a graphic tee's. I'm stepping up my Pinterest game and have started a new board >>>>  t-shirt style  And I want to invite you to head on over to Pinterest and follow along! I'll be posting all things t-shirt style, fashion, my favorite jeans, shoes, accessories and even beauty products I love.

Don't have a favorite graphic t-shirt? Ramble Apparel has you covered. When designing and printing our shirts we are ALWAYS thinking of how and what we will wear with it. Be sure to check out our new line of shirts listed last week.

let's do this

I've created multiple boards to help us all along! Who doesn't love a soft and comfy t-shirt? My goal is to find ways to dress them up.

website launch || m wood designs

m wood designs

Two things: I love branding & design. Visual branding is such an important part of your business. I recently taught a boss time : social media workshop and I hear so many creative entrepreneurs struggling with content (what do we talk about), quality images, and an overall concept of social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook.

As a small business I understand the commitment it takes to invest back into your business but I can't stress enough its value.

I would like to introduce m wood designs. I've had the pleasure of getting to know Merrill, owner and creator of m wood designs. She is so sweet, kind, and makes the cutest genuine leather earrings. They are soft, light weight and go with everything! I was so thrilled when she decided to take m wood designs to the next level and really invest back into her creative business. We worked together to figure out what she needed most for her social media and overall brand.

We started by booking a content marketing session, product shots and lastly, I designed a fully functioning website to show case her earrings and reach a larger audience. Merrill has great vision of what she wants but needed help getting there. I loved helping her start to finish create something she was proud of. Shooting her product and designing her website allowed me to have more freedom and control when it came to making her website, social media and images all cohesive with each other.

m wood designs

I book one content marketing and web design client a month to ensure quality. My goal is to put my full focus on the one client so everything is cohesive and done in a timely manner. If you have more questions on either content marketing or web design click below.

I've been hinting toward this for some time now. The big "I've been working on something that I can't wait to share more about" is HERE! Did I have a really clear vision of where LITTLE h CREATIVE would be 5 years ago, no. Did I work really hard to make it something I love and am proud of, yes.

my story.

LITTLE h CREATIVE

by: Chase Roberts

I am a multi-tasker and individual who can't do the same thing for too long. I have a billion ideas going through my mind in a given day. I've learned to channel the ideas and create something I absolutely love through screen printing and graphic design. LITTLE h CREATIVE has been such an amazing part of my story.

2017 has proven to be a year of change and dream catching. One of my main goals was to invest in explaining what this space is. I have had a hard time with my "elevator pitch". Because I wear so many faces it can seem like I get lost in all of them but to me, it's the exact opposite. Graphic design, screen printing and photography are each a part of me. They mesh and compliment each other in ways that make it easy to be who I am.  It's about community and authenticity.

Chase Roberts is the brains behind this amazing video. He made this so easy for me and has always made me feel comfortable and confident in the dream I am living and pursing. My brain is not an easy one to figure out. I don't make it easy for people to follow my train of thought but he did. He listened and made this video exactly what I had invisioned. I could not recommend him enough.

This is me. This is LITTLE h CREATIVE. This is my story.

I've recently updated and worked hard to provide more information on custom screen printing with LITTLE h CREATIVE. I'd love for you to check it out!

logo design work || gilbert creek gardens

I would like to introduce Gilbert Creek Gardens. They are a local flower farm providing the Wichita Falls and surrounding areas with sustainable fresh cut flowers. There are few flower farms in the United States and I am so happy we have them. Blair, owner, is so knowledgable and passionate about growing fresh flowers.

When she came to me and wanted me to design her a new logo I was overjoyed. Logo and branding material is something I am very passionate about.

She chose the package number two  and I am so pleased with how everything turned out! Here is a look at the the final logos. You can see more about what design services we off here HERE!

I have a lot of people come to me and they don't have a clue what they want and think that they have to decide right away before we start. Don't worry, I don't expect you to know what you want! That's my job! I love to sit and chat about what inspires you and what you do and don't like. I will help you brainstorm and I also provide you with a branding questionnaire that really helps with decisions. I allow 3 revisions so there is no stress about having to figure everything the first time. My goal is to make your logo a positive tangible aspect of your brand identity.

I've been really busy lately with logo & web design projects. Stay tuned for more and be sure to check out Gilbert Creek Gardens on Instagram and Facebook! @gilbertcreekgardens

back in business

i am so thankful i took a maternity leave from custom printing and photography sessions after i had Maggie. i have been able to focus on the kids and enjoy this holiday season - it's been wonderful. as a creative entrepreneur i am now going a little stir crazy and am really excited to get back to work and do what i love. i am now accepting custom print orders and along with photography and design projects.  i will be at the store a couple days a week along with working from home. please feel free to contact me via the website form or via email >>> kathryn@littlehcreative.com

i'd be glad to answer any questions and give you a quote. i hope all of you had a great Christmas and have wonderful things planned for the new year!

a year in review || 2016

well the year is almost over and usually i'm like wow, i can't believe it's almost over but i have to say this year was a long and wonderful year. i opened the store at the first of the year and soon found out we were expecting our third little human. it. was. hard. being sick is not my jam.

if i had to pick one word for 2016 it would be ..... trust. i had to trust in the Lord that opening the store space on 7th was the right move. i had to trust that it would work. i had to trust in myself. i had to trust that our baby growing in my belly was safe and healthy.  pretty much,  i had to trust the dream.

i have received so much affirmation about the business and store this year.  i booked more photography clients, design clients and printed more custom orders than ever before. i have so much to learn and am continuously inspired by those around me and the people who support my little store of handmade happiness.

i have really BIG news to share with you next week but until then i would like to say thank you to everyone who follows along. i have big goals for 2017.

the girls of grown SO much this year. annie turned 5, jane turned 3 and we welcomed another beautiful girl to our family in october, maggie ann. we bought a camper and hope to enjoy many more camping trips this year as a family.

i encourage you to think about your word for this past year. what was it and looking forward, what is your word for 2017? comment below! i'd love to hear. now...picture overload from this past year.

business : questions answered

image me 1.jpg

business questions answered || i'd love to get some feedback on if you like me doing this, would you like to hear more? do you have a question to ask?

is there something/service i offer that you would like to hear more about? i'm looking forward to 2017 and have some goals and plans for a workshop or e-course and i'd love feedback on what you'd like to have available and learn more about.

my focus is on providing resources for entrepreneurs relating to business // social media // branding - what else?

tool - camera and when printing, all of it. i've been trying to think of a piece of equipment that is most important or that i could live without and i can't.

object - laptop, i have three parts to my business; photography, graphic design, and screen printing. i use my laptop all day. to edit, design, communicate, and much more.

ritual - my morning cup of coffee. it's the first thing we do in the morning is brew the coffee. without it, let's be honest, a big grump

this is a loaded question that i get a lot.

1. start fresh and smart which means do your homework on the market. is there a need and want for what you are creating? even if the market is heavily saturated on what you do, can you make it different? what separates you from the rest?

2. spend the money and hire a professional to create a quality logo so that your presence can be taken seriously. your brand and business will appreciate it!

3. and this might be the most important, don't try to do everything yourself!!! talk to and ask questions to other entrepreneurs.

another hard one for me to put into words. success to me is that feeling i get when my clients are happy and voice their appreciation for what i've done. whether a portrait session, a custom screen printing job or the way someone reacts when they come in the store. as long as i can help people in any form i feel successful.

weekly update

it's been a busy week and i marked a major "to-do" off my list. i finally got my email subscription up! i've had a request for a subscription and it is now available. i do most of my updates on social media, preferably Instagram, and i know there is a large amount of people who aren't on Instagram or Facebook. my hope is that i can keep you updated on sales, business and share some of my thoughts and inspirations with you a bit more easily.

so you can get to know me a little better i am going to answer one question about me/my business in each email. my weekly blog post will include these questions in case you missed the email or didn't have a chance to read. i encourage you if you are a small business owner or part time creative, to stop and think about your answers to these questions. taking this time to stop and reflect has helped me tremendously! and if you ever have a question for me please leave them in the comments!

so here we go

LITTLE h CREATIVE // BUSINESS // QUESTIONS

this one is hard, i grew up on a produce farm which was really hard work. i admire and look up to my dad who worked for himself and provided for our family. i always dreamed of working for myself like him but with no clear direction on what that would be. after graduating high school i decided i wanted to be a speech therapist and that lasted one semester. i then went into business marketing with no plan. it wasn't until i took a business entreprenuer class when it all clicked. i loved the class, the professor and it just so happens that semester i bought my current screen printing business. i knew nothing about it but was instantly sold. it has been a lot of trail and error but i am so thankful were it has brought me today.

LITTLE h CREATIVE // BUSINESS // QUESTION

hands down, friends and family and the other aspect of this is time. running a business takes so much time and energy. this time and energy isn't just associated with "starting out" it's never ending and i think the biggest obstacle is learning how to manage your time so you can give the appropiate amount of time to your family and friends.

i love to socialize and entertain. i love people and i really love my family. since i've taken little h creative full time i have felt an emptiness that comes from not being able to entertain and have my girl time. i miss so many of my friends. i've learned to manage my time to give my family quality time but continue to find a way i can see my friends more. i think it's the phase of life i'm in with young children and a new business. all i can do currently is love life, pray, and be thankful for all that i do have.

i am also including free graphics for social media or your phone wallpaper! here is this weeks free downloads!

life lately : balance

i wrote a post awhile back about working from home and finding balance. like all seasons of life things have changed and my routine looks completely different. i very often get ask "HOW do you do so much?" "WHY do you do so much" and am always given suggestions like " you should cut something out"  or  "work less" ... while all questions and suggestions are welcome i realize no one really knows whats going on but me. of course ryan is in tune and helps keep me in check but there are still many moments in a day were i feel completely alone.

owning and running a multifaceted business at many times is complicated but i wouldn't trade it for the world. i thoroughly enjoy screen printing, photography and graphic design. there are times i want to cut out one but can't wrap my head around it.

today while screen printing multiple custom orders i realized i am able to offer a variety of services and enjoy each of them is because i need each of them to keep me focused and on track. even though i enjoy it, i don't think i could be out in the screen printing studio for 8+ hours a day. same goes with photography and graphic design. by doing different jobs that are very different from each other i get excited about working on each one. i don't get burned out and i look forward to each new client.

i've always struggled with the ability to stay on track. school was a challenge. offering different services which allow me to work with my hands and interact with people brings me great joy and gives me balance.

with baby #3 to arrive in october, i will be fine tuning each of the services i offer to best fit our family but no single one will be deleted. stay tuned for those updates!!

wow, i seriously can't believe 2015 is over. this was a big year for me and my family. in january i made the launch to rebrand myself and change my business name. what was little h prints became little h creative. as much as i loved learning and working in the oil and gas industry i was miserable trying to balance being a creative person at home and sitting at a desk all day in front of a computer.

in march i took a huge leap and financial risk attending the wildflower workshop with joy pouty in austin. this workshop was intimate and provided me with much needed advice on how to take my career seriously.  i met some amazing women whom will always inspire me to be better and to live my dreams.

in april i made the leap to leave my full time job in oil & gas to become self employed and work from home. i also opened my booth space in the alley cat vintage mercantile.

may was wild. jane had tubes put in her ears and i had a golf ball sized lump removed from my thyroid. the entire experience was painful and scary. i am so thankful and blessed that the lump was cancer free and with half a thyroid my bodies hormones are functioning perfectly therefore i do not have to take medication.

summer is a blur. we took a much needed trip to the beach and ryan changed careers to work for my brother's company. since i design, plan, and print my own products i have to start designing each line months before they are released.

fall was very special. in october i had the most amazing experience to shoot my first wedding. november was a game changer for me. i was presented the opportunity to attend the bloom bash workshop in seattle, wa. being around such a variety of creative entrepenuaers was amazing. i'm still trying to wrap my head around all the amazing information we were provided. inspired doesn't begin to touch how amazing it was.

workshops are so important. they give you purpose and reason for why you do the things you do while providing tools to help you in the path you choose.

a couple local creatives and i are teaming up to bring a workshop to wichita falls. a much needed experience for the ladies of this town and surrounding area. please check out our website for more information. click here ----> the found workshop

i also was apart of christmas magic for the first time. spending so much on a booth space was scary but i'm so happy i took the leap and trusted my gut. being around my customers and sharing my passion and products is what inspired me to find a store front space of my own.

december is when my new adventure began. i am in my new store front space, offering new design and photography packages. i am excited for the path i am on. God is holding my hand and i pray he never let's go. i couldn't do my work without the love and support of my family, friends, and customers who believe in me.

// adventure // a new store

NEW STORE // STORE SPACE // DOWNTOWN // WICHITA FALLS // TEXAS // LITTLE H CREATIVE

where to start? most of you have noticed or seen that i have moved from the alley cat to a new store location. i have been with julie at the alley cat vintage mercantile for a long time! years! i love her and her treasure of a store. multiple things led me to move and get my own place, being self employed and working from home has been great. i was able to have a retail booth space in town while doing photography, design, & print at home.

this worked for a little while but honestly it's been a little crazy. our house completely got taken over with product, an online store and my dining room table became an office. for someone who doesn't like mess or clutter it became a little much to handle.

i had a booth space in November at christmas magic and it was so great to have a client/customer interaction. i put a lot of thought and time into my designs and the process of printing all of my own stock. i am very attached to all of my work, it is apart of who i am and i wouldn't do it if i didn't love it. that goes with photography and design as well.

i now have a place sell my products with hopes of expanding by this summer, a place to meet my clients and i have a small wall for studio space. i won't be doing props. i will still be shooting outdoor and natural light photography but hopes of doing a very simple series of portraits.

this store space will hopefully simplify my life. before i was running around delivering orders all day and working extremely long hours at home. we are now adjusting to me being away from home again and having to work a store but i truly believe this was the best move for our family.

NEW STORE // DOWNTOWN // WICHITA FALLS // TEXAS
