engagement session : joe + paula

we took this engagement session in the charlie area. the evening was just beautiful. paula contacted me about shooting their wedding before i had really made the decision to shoot weddings. i love weddings and the emotion during the day makes me giddy. so the thought of having this opportunity made me super excited!

paula and joe own defining moments nutrition in iowa park, tx. they are so comfortable around each other and look at each other with so much love and respect. being able to capture this love in our session was such a joy. love is such a beautiful thing and doesn't come around everyday. they have it and i am so excited for them and their wedding day in October.

i am happy to announce i am now booking weddings! if you are interested in prices you can head over to the investment page to find out more!

family session : taylor + will + littles

at the beginning of march taylor and i attended one of joy's wildflower workshop's in austin. we went with a group of 14 women and it was life changing. i have sense felt more confident in my photography and have made forever friendships.

taylor and her family are from olney. she's is so beautiful and getting to be around her growing family was such a joy. i am not around little boys all day so it's fun getting to capture those personalities. i am so happy for you and will and wish you the best of luck when the new baby boy makes his debut this summer!

family session : amber + mitch + littles

i am so blessed that i know the majority of my clients. i did not know amber and mitch before this session and i am so thankful we crossed paths. they were so sweet and the kids were great! it was great getting to capture each of their personalities.

i am so thankful for all of my sessions and the way God puts people in your life. amber is an ambassador for Noonday. i've admired this company for awhile now and am so excited to be hosting a truck show May 12th @ the Alley Cat Vintage Mercantile. (9th and Indiana) downtown Wichita Falls. i'll be posting more in this soon but for now..

here is a peak into this session.

bridal session : jessica bachman

i am lucky and honored that my sister jessica let me take her bridal portraits. she was absolutely stunning and even more so on her wedding day. she had such a beautiful glow about her. i have SO many favorites so you are going to get a little picture overload. we started in wichita falls and then went out to some land in the charlie area. jessica has been in love with this house for a long time. it's old and falling down but there is something special about it. lastly we ended up in a wheat field, there is something really magical about the way the wheat sways in the wind and the color is the most beautiful green. growing up in the area has given us such an appreciation of God's beauty.

i love you jessica and travis and am so happy for you.

portrait session : tylar moer

this little lady is such a joy. 18 months is such a great age! this was also the end of the peach blossoms and i'm so glad i got to do tyler's pictures in them. her little outfit was just the cutest! ms. tylar you are so loved and it shows.

happy friday all! this is a great time of year to book a session. the grass is green and the trees are filling out. contact me to book your session!

spring session : annie + jane

spring is so great in so many ways. i am experiencing spring in a whole new light this year. becoming self employed full time and home with the girls is so amazing. i won't lie if i say it isn't a struggle as well. it's my nature to pile as much in a day as humanly possible.

one of my favorite things about living in the country in the spring is the wheat fields. i feel like there is a beauty i can not express into words or pictures. yesterday around 6 o'clock i looked up and noticed how beautiful the clouds were. i quickly fed the kids, bathed them, dressed them and headed out the door get some pictures of the kids while the peach blossoms were still in bloom. jane had been a bit cranky all day (getting tubes in april and i can't wait) and annie is usually always up for anything.

without going into every little detail i will say it was a struggle to get the girls to look at me or of even listen to me. they wanted to run, play, and ignore me. frustration overcame me and we left the peach blossoms and were going to head home.

on the way home i crossed this field and saw the clouds again and was reminded how beautiful life is. so i let the kids out and let them run through the grass - free and unposed. jane was having a blast one second and pissed another - one of my favorite photos is of her staring at me mad. it explains what the poor kid has been going through. she is getting tubes in a couple weeks and i hope she finally gets relief.

oh girls, mama loves you to the moon and back.

2 year session : kaia

this little lady is so smart, cute and the definition of a two year old. she did not want anything to do with me or the camera. i truly believe that recording this time in a young childs life is so important. she may not be all smiles but these pictures show me a strong, independent, and smart little lady.

kate talley : support epilepsy

cherise has been my best friend since the fourth grade. her daughter was diagnosed with epilepsy when she was 7 months old. due to the severity of the seizures she had her first surgery in august of last year removing her left frontal lobe of her brain. it worked to keep her seizure free for a little while but did not last. the team and doctors at Cooks have decided to remove the entire left frontal lobe of the brain so that Kate can be seizure free forever. the surgery will be longer and tougher on Kate than the first but this little lady is so strong and we know she can handle it. please pray with me for kate, the doctors, and the peace to be with her parents, shawn and cherise.

one of the major tasks for cherise and her family is to keep kate healthy which means being confined to her house. i went out last week to get some shots of kate playing in her environment. she absolutely loves this photo album. 90% of the time she flipped though the pages. one after another. over and over.

please say a prayer this little one gets relief and is seizure free! we love you cherise, shawn, jace and kate!

taking that step

i am leaving my very secure wonderful job to be self employed and spend more time with my kids. it feels like this has been a long time coming - almost like a dream. when i decided to really launch little h creative with a website in january and putting myself out there i wasn't sure what would come of it. i have been so blessed with clients, inspiration, and support. it doesn't take me much to get inspired and have the desire to start creating things.

i had been on the virge, stressing about finances and pondering whether or not it was the right choice for our family. one day last week i went to visit a long time favorite shop (one I've always had a booth at on a very small scale and as little h prints) the alley cat. i was needing to talk to Julie, owner, about moving and enlarging my booth (because 922 indie where i currently had the bulk of my stuff was closing). i was taken to the third floor and i felt like i could almost cry. i saw a huge space with wood floors, tiffany blue walls, and endless possibilities.

right then i knew i had a passion inside me that needed to be used. i had to take the chance. the next day i told my boss and i took the first step of doing something i love.

two of many passions of mine is creating things and old stuff. i love making things with my hands and seeing the results. i easily get frustrated when i can't figure out how to make something. (usually because it requires some power tool i don't know how to use. thank goodness i have a very handy husband) i thrive and get extra excited when i walk into a thrift or "junk" store as some call them. my heart goes out to downtown properties that are not given the chance to grow and be renewed.

the space is to be called the alley cat attic. a space full of handmade and vintage items with a open concept boutique feel. not all the details are worked out yet but i am excited to move towards screen printing textiles; fabric, pillows, tote bags, tea towels, and more.

this will also be a space were i can meet clients for consultations and appointments. having a little space to call mine is so wonderful.  right now the bulk of my time is spent creating and designing items for the store.  a tentative open date is mid to end march.

these pictures really don't have much to do with this post except that all of this change will result in more time with these people who make this passion inside me so great.

so please stayed tuned. i am going to do my best to keep you updated! follow me on instagram (social icon is at the top of the page will take you to my instagram) i post regularly there.

monday moments

our house usually goes from loud to quiet in 2 seconds flat. ryan made me this pallet couch about a year ago. i bought a crib mattress and put some throw pillows on it and it is the girls number one place to hang. jane is able to crawl up and read a book all by herself. annie uses it as a trampoline (which i don't encourage) and i pretty sure jane can't wait until she can do it. (hopefully not sooner than later)

when we bought our house a year and half ago the main thing that drew me in was the natural light. we have two huge windows on both sides of the house. i love how our house lights up during the day. there are days i think we need drapes or curtains but can't bring myself to do it because i'm scared i'll lose some of this beautiful light.

so for now i'll just deal with my bare windows and soak up this light and these two spunky kids.

this texas weather can't decide what it wants to do -  yesterday i was out spray painting doilies and today i'm bundled up and freezing. so happy Monday to ya and i hope this post brought a little light to your day.

newborn lifestyle : sadie

i am so happy for this little family. my cousin allison and her husband, nate, are going to be such great parents. ms. sadie was one week old and was awake almost the entire time. i think she wanted to show off those beautiful eyes and that hair, amazing. so so pretty.

2014 photo album

every year i try to organize our pictures into an annual photo album. i've tried 4 different companies, never really happy with the process or the product. this year since i've gotten started with miller's lab i decided to order through them and what a great choice it was. they have a number of different album options including the signature albums and layflat albums which i offer with a few of my photography packages. they are also available for purchase on top of any photography package.

i chose this hard back album because it allowed be to have up to 140 pages. the pages are good quality matte paper. not the super thick pages which is offered with the other albums. i picked the blue art cloth and chose to have our name of the book foil pressed on top of the book. this was a great option for only $7.

- baby sadie marie : hospital -

i would like to introduce to you the newest addition to our huge family - sadie. i was able to make it up to the hospital right before they moved mom to postpartum and baby to the nursery. sadie was born 1 day preterm so she is going to be watched over in the nursery. i wasn't able to get many but no need- this sweet family is in love with their new addition and it makes my heart happy. nate and allison, congrats! she is beautiful! you did great and i have to say, i love that head of hair ;)
